Roger Wong is a designer, creative strategist, and technologist who focuses on building simple and engaging user experiences for people around the world. His process combines collaboration and small nudges to introduces diverse cultures to emerging technology.

When colleagues want to challenge their thinking, Roger is the one they seek out. A product designer and experienced strategist with an eye toward criticality, he is constantly pushing himself and his peers to see things differently.

Prior to co-founding Ona in 2013, Roger worked for The Earth Institute leading user experience design for international data-related projects. He was also a senior designer at Frog Design where he worked on UI/UX, design research, and creative storytelling projects for Fortune 500 companies. Noteworthy fact: early in his career at Pentagram, he was entrusted to work on a single user interface icon for One Laptop Per Child.

He has led human centered design workshops with ministry officials, rural community members, and frontline health workers in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. His diverse project portfolio includes financial services, public goods, mobile and technology, public health, media, and branding.

After moves from California to the South and Northeast, Roger is back in Maryland, a few miles outside of Washington D.C. He likes to read, upgrade his kids’ treehouse, and play basketball in his free time.
